Der Bärenhäuter

Once a soldier came back from war. He had nothing. An old soldier met him.

He said: I will give you money. But you must wear my coat. And do not wash.

The soldier wore the coat. He did not wash. He slept in barns.

People were afraid. He came to a castle. A dragon was in it.

The princess said: kill the dragon. You get half. The soldier killed the dragon.

The princess gave him half. The princess was unkind. The soldier went to the king.

The king said: come back. The princess did not want him. The soldier said: the dragon was not killed.

He came back. The princess ran. The soldier was the king.
