Der Wolf und die sieben jungen Geißlein

A wolf came by. He said: open up. The goats heard his rough voice.

They did not open. The wolf went to the baker. He ate white bread.

His voice was soft now. He came back. The goats saw his black feet.

They did not open. The wolf went to the mill. He made his feet white.

He came back. The goats opened the door. The wolf came in.

He ate six little goats. Only the youngest hid in the clock. The wolf went away.

The mother came home. She saw the empty house. The little goat told her.

They went looking. The wolf was sleeping under a tree. His belly was round.

The mother cut it open. Six little goats jumped out. They filled the belly with stones.

The wolf woke up. He fell into the water. And the goats danced round the tree.
