Once a woman had a boy. She named him Lucky Hans. The king said: I will give you my daughter.

But she must come. Hans took her to the inn. He had to fetch water.

The king came. He saw the girl. He wanted her.

He sent her back. Hans was sad. He walked in the woods.

An old woman said: I will help. Her son is a boy. He goes to the devil.

Hans went to the devil. The devil said: you must work. Hans worked.

He sat by the fire. The devil came. Hans pulled out three gold hairs.

The devil screamed. The king sent for Hans. Hans went to the king.

He told him the truth. The king let the girl go. Hans married her.

And they lived happily ever after.
