He sat by the well. She said: come with me. He did not.

She went home. She said: who would kiss me. The king heard.

He came. He asked her to marry. She said: no.

She was unkind. She had to be a goose-girl. She was unhappy.

She combed her hair. The king came. He asked again.

She said: no. The king left. She was alone.

The comb fell into the well. She went home. Her mother said: that was foolish.

She learned. Be kind to those who love you.
