Die Wichtelmänner

Once a poor shoemaker had leather for one pair. He cut the leather. He went to sleep.

In the morning the shoes were done. A man bought them. The shoemaker had money.

It happened again. The shoemaker wanted to see them. He hid.

Two little men came. They made the shoes. The shoemaker was kind.

He made little clothes for them. The little men were happy. They did not come back.

But the shoemaker had enough leather. He was happy. And he lived happily ever after.
