Sneewittchen

Read this tale aloud, or read along with your little one. Sentences are short and the words are simple.

Once a queen had a daughter. She was white as snow. Red as blood.

Black as ebony. The queen died. The king married again.

The stepmother had a mirror. She said: who is the fairest? The mirror said: Snow White.

The stepmother was angry. She sent a hunter. He let Snow White run.

She came to a house. Seven dwarfs lived there. She lived with them.

The stepmother asked the mirror. It said: Snow White. The stepmother made a poisoned apple.

Snow White ate it. She fell. The dwarfs put her in a glass coffin.

A prince came. He could not lift the coffin. A servant helped.

The coffin shook. The apple fell out. Snow White woke up.

They were married. The stepmother danced in iron shoes. She died.

Snow White lived happily ever after.
